The metamorphosis of the reception area, which began in October 2021, is ongoing!

The huts in the reception area are getting a makeover! All in retaining the existing, facades and pine shingle roofs are renovated. The initial architecture of “cabins under the pines” is revealed…
In 2023, the future village will host new spaces dedicated to welcoming visitors and cultural and scientific mediation. A tour will allow you to better understand the formation of this moving natural monument.
Eight commercial units will take place in less than a year (six restaurant areas and two cultural shops), with services and products related to the environmental dimension of the Grand Site.
Make way for soft mobility and a respectful discovery of places

This requalification also concerns the reception area by offering alternatives to the car : parking spaces dedicated to buses have been reorganized and wooden decking platforms will soon be built to facilitate pedestrian traffic (schools, groups visiting the Grand Site, etc.).
Many of you are now borrowing the new cycle path at the entrance to the site ! Bike racks are available before climbing the Dune.
The great walk is taking shape too! The plantations carried out last fall offer you a better immersion in the forest atmosphere. Some are in bloom now.

These plant species have been selected for their adaptation to the climate and to the soil of the dune forest. It is made up of native plants, melliferous plants, or even host plants, such as: Oak cork, the pedunculate oak, the maritime pine, the spiny fern, I'royal osmund, I'arbutus, the broom heath, the holly, the bell heather, the sage-leaved cistus, the butcher's broom, the broad-leaved wired…
During the works, the "ephemeral" village welcomes you!
The dune remains accessible during the works! But for everyone's safety, certain areas of the reception area are, for a given time, closed to the public. They are marked out by wayfinding and information signs that change as the work progresses.
