Access ease in season
To facilitate the ascent to as many people as possible, a stairs are installed from April to early November. Even though the 160 steps will surely get the better of your breath, everyone can climb at their own pace.
No worries for those who wish to visit the Grand Site with children. They are often the ones who will have reached the top first.
Accessibility and handicap
The Dune itself is difficult to access (walking in the sand, steep slope, etc.) for people with limited mobility.
During the rehabilitation works, accessibility for wheelchairs and strollers is possible up to the so-called “ephemeral” village, made up of the reception and information point and sanitary facilities. However, the path leading to the dune of Pilat is impractical for people with reduced mobility.
Like all natural spaces, there are natural and technical constraints limiting the installation of equipment, but making it possible not to denature and disturb the site.
However, secondary accesses provide access to the foot of the dune (access by the stairs of the Corniche).
View 360 °
For those who cannot climb the Dune of Pilat, a 360 ° view of the Dune of Pilat is available.
Three views are available:
- At the Sunrise
- During the day
- At sunset "
A reflection is underway to make the visit of the large site of the Dune du Pilat more immersive for people with reduced mobility.
