The Conservatoire du littoral, owner of the majority of the Grand Site of the Dune du Pilat and the Syndicat Mixte de la Grande Dune du Pilat, manager of the site, announce various construction projects scheduled from November 2025.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Waste buried in the Sabloney area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following the appearance of waste buried in the sand in the Sabloney area (see. article on the website<\/a> <\/strong>and press release of July 22, 2025<\/a><\/strong>), at the paragliding take-off site, the Conservatoire has commissioned the certified engineering firm Ant\u00e9a Group to carry out a survey which will establish a precise diagnosis of the surface area of polluted soil and the volume of materials to be extracted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demolition of burned ruins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ruins of six houses and cabins destroyed by fire in 2022 will undergo asbestos removal, demolition, and site cleanup starting November 12th and lasting approximately four months. This work will take place in the Gaillouneys area, west of the Panorama campsite, and in the For\u00eat Usag\u00e8re, south of the Dune du Pilat visitor center. Particular attention will be paid to the removal and recycling of materials and invasive exotic species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burnt wood<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The burned trees on the plot located at the start of the Sabloney firebreak and those in the valley south of the Petit Nice campsite will be felled in mid-November. This project, carried out by the company BEMA, will create landscape openings and diversify the management of the post-fire plots in order to study the impacts on biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coastal Conservancy and the Joint Syndicate of the Great Dune of Pilat are therefore doing everything possible to ensure good management of the site<\/strong> and to promote the natural restoration of areas impacted by the fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
