The Gironde is placed in RED alert for forest fires<\/strong> (subject to change). This vigilance is shifting to the level very high<\/strong> (red\/level 4 on a scale of 5).<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A collective responsibility, more relevant than ever<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This decision imposes, for the entire department \u2013 and more particularly in sensitive areas such as the Dune du Pilat \u2013 strict restrictions <\/strong>in the practice of all outdoor activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The preservation of the Dune of Pilat is everyone's business. We urge visitors to be extra vigilant and strictly follow the instructions.<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Restrictions in effect during red alert<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Faced with this accumulated risk, several measures will be implemented starting August 8th:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolute prohibition of all fires, including barbecues<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smoking is prohibited throughout the Dune du Pilat and the visitor center; throwing away cigarette butts or any burning debris is also prohibited.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regulated access along forest trails: <\/strong>Some areas may be closed or subject to restricted hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prohibition on the use of thermal tools <\/strong>(brush cutters, grinders, etc.), burning green waste or flying lanterns\/fireworks near forest areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obligation for everyone to report any outbreak of fire<\/strong> At 18<\/strong> or to 112<\/strong> without delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
