To prevent it from completely silting up during the winter, the staircase facilitating access to the Dune, on its eastern slope, is now dismantled. Indeed, we quickly forget that the highest dune in Europe is mobile and moves 1 to 5 meters inland each year, mainly as a result of storms and their strong winds that carry sand.
The staircase will be back with the sunny days, in spring!
In the meantime, the dune remains accessible (unlike the forest), you will simply have to allow a little more time to reach the summit!
The reclassified cabin village continues to welcome you, the services (catering and cultural shops and the information point) remain open!
