The Dune du Pilat Grand Site is particularly vulnerable to fire risks. Furthermore, public health prevention involves reducing smoking initiation among young people and eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke.
By decree n°2025-889, smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the Grand Site of the Dune du Pilat, except in the smoking areas at the level of the reception area of the Grand Site of the Dune, clearly identified by the Syndicat Mixte de la Grande Dune du Pilat, manager of the site, in accordance with the regulations in force.
