🌿Raising awareness among younger generations about the preservation of an exceptional natural heritage
Among the priority audiences of the planned Grand Site de France at the Dune du Pilat, schools occupy a central place.
Our mission? To raise awareness from a young age through on-site educational activities.
For schools in the Arcachon Basin, this can be done in two stages:
▶️ In class: our mediators use fun tools (sensory boxes, interactive maps, etc.) to explain the formation of the dune, its biodiversity, and the emblematic professions of the region (oyster farmers, traditional activities such as tapping, etc.).
▶️ On site: students become actors in their discovery, with immersive visits to bring learning to life.

This year, they are 12 classes in the Arcachon Basin who will benefit from this type of intervention in two stages.
In 2024, 2,286 students were welcomed for a total of 96 activities.
💼A concrete example: This Monday, April 7, our mediators led a workshop at the Teich school for CE1-CE2 students. Thanks to multisensory materials and our educational workshop "Behind the Scenes of the Dune" (visual, olfactory, audio), they explored the history of the dune, the territory of the Grand Site and its riches. Everyone left with their ambassador card, ready to share this knowledge before a future field visit.
🤝Together, let's build a sustainable approach so that the planned Grand Site de France of the Dune du Pilat is a place of discovery and respect for future generations.
