Winter activities

The Dune du Pilat can also be explored in winter! During the holiday season, two guided walks and a storytelling walk (both free) invite locals and visitors to rediscover this iconic site, far from the summer crowds. It's the perfect time to enjoy the winter light, the fresh air, and a more intimate atmosphere on Europe's tallest dune.

Two guided walks during the holidays

The Sundays, December 21 and 28, at 10 a.m., The guides offer guided walks to help you understand the formation of the dune, the richness of its flora and fauna, and the challenges of protecting this fragile site. Whether with family, friends, or on your own, these free guided tours offer a different way to explore the dune crest, observe the ocean and the forest, and ask all your questions about this constantly changing landscape.

A storytelling walk for the family

The Friday, January 2nd, from 2:30 PM to 4 PM, A family-friendly storytelling walk, suitable for children aged 6 and up, extends this winter interlude. Guided by Myriam's voice, children and adults alike are swept away by stories inspired by the Dune, its winds, its trees, and its discreet inhabitants, discovering the site in a new light, through imagination and storytelling. It's the perfect outing to share a timeless moment during the holidays, while also raising awareness among younger children about the beauty and fragility of this natural environment.
