⚠️ BREAKING NEWS: Access to the Dune du Pilat is closed (Black Forest Fire Alert)

Due to extreme weather conditions and the passage of the Gironde department through black alert for the risk of forest fires, The Dune du Pilat and the visitor center (parking lot, shops, information areas, toilets, mediation activities) are closed until further notice.

The safety of our visitors, site staff and the protection of the forest area are our absolute priorities.

⛔ Access strictly prohibited and safety instructions

For the entire duration of the alert:

• Access to the site: Access to the Dune du Pilat and the entire adjacent forest massif is strictly prohibited to the public.
• Parking: Access to the site's parking lot is closed.
• Shops and services: All restaurants, cultural shops and information points in the reception area are closed.

Reminder : In and around the forest, smoking, littering cigarette butts, and lighting fires are strictly prohibited. The slightest spark can cause an uncontrollable fire.

ℹ️ Situation monitoring and reopening

The situation is being reassessed daily in close collaboration with the Gironde Prefecture and the emergency services (SDIS 33).

An announcement will be made as soon as weather conditions allow the lifting of restrictions and the safe reopening of the site.
