LANDSCAPE READING DAY

The President of the Grand Site of the Dune du Pilat, Nathalie Le Yondre, accompanied by the elected members of the Syndicate Committee and the teams of the Syndicat mixte, invited all of her partners involved in the process of applying for the Grand Site de France label.

This “reading the landscape” day allowed us to collectively immerse ourselves in the “spirit of the place”. Sublime or picturesque, grandiose or intimate, the Dune du Pilat like other Great Sites exudes a "spirit" of its own. Painters, poets, writers have known how to approach it and transmit it, like Cézanne for the Montagne Sainte-Victoire or Victor Hugo for the Pointe du Raz...

What makes the landscapes of the Dune du Pilat so valuable? What makes their originality, their unique or singular character? What are we attached to? How can these values help us to base our choices in terms of protection and management of the Grand Site, in particular after the trauma of the fire? These values will be the common thread of the reflections to come.
