The fire in the forest of La Teste-de-Buch had logically put a temporary halt to our work to requalify the reception area, they resumed in the fall last. As a reminder, these works do not consist of a major metamorphosis or an extension of the developed spaces. In fact, the site is class and the objective is to ensure its preservation while improving the conditions of visit for all visitors, throughout the year.

WORKS OF THE VILLAGE OF CABANES

At the start of the year, the companies in charge of structural work are gradually giving way to those of the finishing work.

The demolition and earthworks have been completed and the decking of the wooden terraces is nearing completion. Thanks to major upgrading work, in particular by using the installation of driven piles and "berlinoises", the village of cabins has been made through and accessible to people with reduced mobility, from the high season 2023. .

The hut dedicated to welcoming visitors is out of water, out of air as well as the premises dedicated to the teams of the Syndicate. The companies are currently working on the cabins that will house the future commercial premises from the coming summer season.

The hut dedicated to environmental mediation located at the western end of the village, has been the subject, since December 2022, of a total identical reconstruction.

The planting pits were made to receive the selected trees and shrubs. Planting is in progress.

RECEPTION AREA WORKS

Visitors have been borrowing since January 2022, the cycle path created from the entrance to the site to the village of cabins. The main access road to the reception area has also been recalibrated to allow oversized vehicles to use it. This pathway now includes specific parking spaces (persons with reduced mobility, electric vehicles and bicycles).

With regard to the reception of buses, the 8 dedicated parking spaces as well as the wooden decking platforms adapted for people with reduced mobility have been completed and operational since last October. Visitors accessing by public transport or by bicycle use the “ great walk which allows them to head towards the foot of Dune away from other traffic flows and thus begin their immersion in the Grand Site. Luminaires suitable for people with reduced mobility but also for the protection of wildlife punctuate all the paths.

Between now and the high summer season, the large promenade, which in its second part will be entirely pedestrian, will be extended.
