Discreet hosts of the Dune

More than 6,800 hectares are classified and protected under the 1930 law on natural monuments and sites. They form a mosaic of habitats favorable to the development of a varied biodiversity.

They are, in a way, the “guardians of the Dune”. Engineer, botanist, landscaper ... and many experts find here an inexhaustible field of study and exploration.

Requests authorization

An AUTHORIZATION REQUEST is mandatory for all events planned on the Grand Site (events, surveys, scientific measurements and surveys, sporting events, filming, sound recording, etc.).

Dune

Arrived at the foot of the dune of Pilat, there is something to feel very small. In front of you, 60 million cubic meters of sand are piled up, witnesses of 4000 years of history.

The ocean

As far as the eye can see, the ocean, which, depending on the tides, discovers the sands of Banc d'Arguin and Banc du Toulinguet, the passes of the Arcachon basin, the long sandy spit of the Cap peninsula -Aglet.
